Subject Notes:  Stan Jones was born on June 5, 1914 in Douglas, Arizona.  At the young age of 49, he succumbed to Cancer in Los Angeles on December 13, 1963.  Working as park ranger in 1948 at the US National Park in Death Valley, Jones got his Hollywood break after being assigned as the liaison to director John Ford while Ford was shooting 3 Godfathers

Jones is best known for his 1949 hit  Ghost Riders In The Sky.  In 1955, Jones began writing for Disney Studios and contributed to their catalog with hits such as Wringle Wrangle from Western Ho, The Wagons! and The Triple R Song from Spin and Marty.  He also appeared in Disney productions such as The Great Locomotive Chase and Ten Who Dared.
