Record Comments: As the title
suggests, Brand New And Slightly Used Sherman Brothers Songs, was a
promotional-only record issued independently by The
Sherman Brothers to promote some of their new and less familiar
material.
Not all songs are from Disney productions. As noted
on the cover, all material was licensed for broadcast and includes five
unreleased tracks. As of today, many of these songs are very
difficult to locate in any format.
Some of the tracks are
alternative versions. The standouts include the Epcot theme park
song Magic Journeys, that is about 30 seconds longer than any of its
other releases and On The Front Porch from Summer
Magic, which is about 45 seconds shorter than
the soundtrack release. The
record jacket has a glossy vinyl texture on the front that is most
commonly found on encyclopedias and school year books. The back of the sleeve is solid
blue with a matte finish and includes no text or artwork.
Matrix Number:

Subject Notes:
The famous song writing team of
brothers Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman are best known
for their Academy Award-winning songs from Mary Poppins, along
with countless other Disney songs and theme park favorites such
as It's A Small World and The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room.
Their amazing career and personal life can been experienced in the
feature-length documentary The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story
that was conceived, produced and directed by the two songwriters'
sons.
