Record Comments: This
record was issued three times, each with the same catalog number but with
slightly different artwork and content. The full title of the album
is Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse Club Mousekedances And Other Mouseketeer Favorites. The
first issue includes a 1975 Mike Curb Congregation disco version of the Mickey Mouse
Club March on track 1 with a back cover exclusive to the 21-song track
listing. A Cast Photo Album booklet similar to the book pages of
catalog #3815 is also included in this issue. The
second issue includes the 1955 Mellomen version of the Mickey Mouse Club
March on track 1, with the Mike Curb version on
track 10. The cover still shows "21" hits, even though the
issue includes "22" tracks. The
back cover is the most different of the three issues. It groups the songs by artists in
lieu of play order and the Spin and Marty photo replaces the Mickey
Mouse Club logo. The front cover is also different,
with additional text at the bottom center, "Performed by Mouseketeers
and Others." The
third issue includes the first vinyl appearance of the full original
Mickey Mouse Club March soundtrack on track 1, with the Mike Curb version on
track 10. The back
cover is similar to the first issue but with the additional Mickey Mouse
Club March listed at the end of side one.
The Disney Cast on this
album includes The Mouseketeers, The Mickey Mouse Club Chorus, Jimmie
Dodd, Annette Funicello, David Stollery, Time Considine, Triple R Cast,
The Mike Curb Generation, Ruth Carrell, Jimmy MacDonald, The Mellomen and
Cliff Edwards. The
record cover boasts STEREOPHONIC,
but the stereo effect is reprocessed from monophonic. However, the
sound quality is very good and rivals other releases. Matrix

Subject
Notes: The Mickey Mouse
Club is
a children's television variety show that includes live-action
performances, exclusive serials and animated segments that were promoted
as Mousekatoon Time. The show was part of a deal with
ABC that help fund the building of the Disneyland Theme Park, in Anaheim
California. The
show premiered in October of 1955 and ran for three seasons, starting
out in an hour-long format and later shortened to 30 minutes. The
programs include a cast of children, known as The Mouseketeers, led by adults Jimmie Dodd and Roy Williams. In
all, 260 one-hour episodes and 130 half-hour episodes were produced. The
original show found new life in syndication in 1975. The success
of the reruns led to the creation of The New
Mickey Mouse Club in 1977 with new episodes and a new cast.
The original series was also revived in 1983,
finding a new home on the Disney Channel. Those airings paved way
for another new cast and episodes starting in
1989 under the title
of MMC.
