Subject Notes: Fess Parker was born on August 16, 1924 in Fort Worth, Texas and died on March 18, 2010 in Santa Ynez, California. To Disney fans, Parker is best known in the title role on the Disney television show Davy Crockett that first aired as part of Disneyland (known later as The Wonderful World of Disney) in December of 1954.

He also starred in several other Disney productions, including The Great Locomotive Chase, Westward Ho, The Wagons! and Old Yeller. He was named a Disney Legend in 1991.
